Bravo! Lee Pace is Heading to the Opera in Terrence McNally's Golden Age

Emmy nominee Lee Pace will play celebrated composer Vincenzo Bellini in Terrence McNally's new play Golden Age. The Manhattan Theatre production will also star Richard Easton and Eddie Kaye Thomas, in addition to previously announced stars Bebe Neuwirth and Lorenzo Pisoni.

Directed by Walter Bobbie, the limited engagement begins previews November 13 at off-Broadway's New York City Center Stage I. Opening night is set for December 4. Newly announced cast members also include Will Rogers (The Submission) as Francesco Florimo, Ethan Phillips (November) as Luigi LaBlache, Dierdre Friel (Leap of Faith) as Giulia Grisi and Coco Monroe (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Young Page. 

Set in the 19th century, Golden Age takes place in Paris on the opening night of Bellini's new opera I Puritani. The composer is determined to win the adulation of not only his audience, but his colleagues and rivals as well. When the curtain falls, will a thunderous ovation cement his prominence? Or has Bellini unwittingly composed his own swan song?

After finishing his run as Ned, the object of Kristin Chenoweth's affection, on the acclaimed TV series Pushing Daisies, Pace made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival of The Normal Heart. He has appeared off-Broadway in The Credeaux Canvas, The Fourth Sister and Small Tragedy. This fall Pace can be spotted in three high profile movies: Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, Steven Speilberg's Lincoln and Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

Easton earned a Tony Award for The Invention of Love and last appeared on Broadway in Elling. His other credits include The Coast of Utopia, Noises Off, Henry IV and Hamlet. 

Best known for his role as Finch in the American Pie films, Thomas has appeared off-Broadway in Bachelorette and The Submission.
